Greatness of the "Unplanned"

Saturday, we had planned for a young family to come over for dinner and conversation. After our morning team meeting, Heather was met outside by our French Belgian neighbor who was waiting for her. They chatted for a few minutes and "Sarah" invited us over for gouter (French for a light afternoon snack). She let her know about our company and she let us know if we had any other time free on the weekend to walk around the corner, knock on their door and let them know.
Well, Heather went inside and found out the son of our planned guests was sick, and they weren't going to be able to make it. We went to "Sarah" and "Benoire's" and organized a rendezvous for later that afternoon. We had a great time with our neighbors. Their daughter began at Makinna's new school one month before Makinna. They are in the same grade- 0 maternelle! It's such a cute little tiny group of school children 2.5- 3 years old. The children played together beautifully. They have an older son nearly 5, and Aubrie and Josiah really enjoyed playing with him. They even have a little backyard, so the kids loved that! Grass! Wow! It was wonderful. It all us a perfect opportunity to connect with this couple that are usually sooo busy. They both work very full-time jobs. It was definitely a gift from the Father. Sarah is taking a week off work next week, so we are planning a get together again with our children during that time.
We are just so blessed how the Lord provided a fantastic opportunity to outreach and get to know our neighbors to build relationships, even as another outreach opportunity appeared to be a bust. Isn't that just like our great and sovereign God? It brings to mind Proverbs 16:9 where it says, "The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his path." No matter how we plan things out, it's God who has the final say and truly directs us- what a relief and blessing that is to enjoy and reap the benefits of knowing and loving Him and watching His constant provision!
Our schedule is so full these days with parents and families, and even young married couples and singles wanting to get together with us. It is such a joy to watch how the Lord fills it up for us. He is just bringing the people to us constantly. It is as though, we are just watching Him at work. We know He is blessing our efforts to be out, available and in constant contact with the lost. We have formed so many relationships over the last year and it's blessing now to not be the ones driving the relationships to see these people contacting us and seeking us out and asking us questions about our walk with the Father. What a joy! Thank you for praying. We are so encouraged by every comment and email we receive from you.
