The Battle of the Bulge, Brugge, the Beaches & a 1st time in France

The men had a day out to see Belgian WWII military sites which include Bastogne (the location of the Battle of the Bulge).
check out all the places we went. http://remembermuseum.com & http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malmedy_massacre

Then the ladies had a day in Brugge, Belgium. It was super COOL! We can't wait to go together as a family.

Brugge is famous for handmade lace! Incredible! And it is also famous for it's canals that run throughout the city, and is known as little Venice. The old churches and architechture of the city buildings and homes are amazing!
Then we took a family day trip to Dunkerque (Dunkirk- in English) on the Northern coast of France, just across the water from Dover, England. Which is the site of the largest successful military evacuation in history. We had great weather until we got ready to go out and play in it. So as one of these pictures shows, we had a great time, but it was cold and started to rain 15 minutes into our time on the beach. That's one way to be able to get the kids to happily leave the beach and head to a WWII museum. While there Brian had a neat conversation with a German WWII vet. That was most definitely a first. The conversation was spotty with the friendly gentleman. He spoke in French, English and a little German. Brian was able to share the gospel with him, that was exciting. We had a fun time, and hope to return.
This is fun, but man are we cold!! Brrr!!!
