It has been a QUICK four months here in Belgium. There are so many things to do each day that time is flying by. It's just about time for the kids summer break. In Belgium kids go to school Sept 1 to June 30, but they have some good breaks mixed in there. Brian and Heather are going to continue language school. We have a final Friday, in which they interact with you about everything you've learned in French thus far - WHEW. Please keep clairity of thought, and the ability to recall all that we've learning in your prayers.
After that, we are heading to back to school for the summer. Heather is nearly finished. These last few things we are learning are tricky and require lots of memorizing and practicing. Hopefully, with the Lord's help she be able to spend a huge BULK of the summer with the kids doing ministry!! Meanwhile Brian will continue at language school.
If you would continue to life up our relationships with fellow parents, teachers, and school friends that would be a blessing to us. We have several relationships building at the moment which gives us great joy in the hope of sharing Christ with them.
We had a Belgian family over for lunch on Sunday- a first for us!!! They ate lunch and hung out with us for 6 hours, they would have stayed longed but they had to run to an appointment. We love the Belgian since of people being important, and sharing a meal as being something to be savored- even if the meal is just so-so spaghetti and meatballs. All in all, it was a wonderful time of fellowship with other believers. We chatted mostly in French. Heather shared her testimony in French for the first time. Sophie seemed to know what she was talking about, so whew! It was just a great day and a great opportunity for learning about Belgians, learning more French, and just spending time with friends. However after they left - we were sad to see them leave- after that though both of us were TOAST! Our brains were fried extra crispy!!! You don't realize at the time, but speaking in another language is very tough mental work. Until, of course, you are fluent, which neither of us are close to that mark! Praise God for a great day and great friends and the opportunity to be here in Bruxelles.
One more thing for those of you that have known Brian for awhile. We had a couple mormon missionaries come to our door the other day. You guessed it... Brian has already set up a rendevous to chat with them about the True gospel. Be praying for that as well.
We love you guys so much. Keep sending us updates and prayer requests. We spend time lifting those up to our sovereignly gracious Lord on your behalf.
