Well, here we are in Denver, waiting on Brian's visa to arrive. The last we heard from the Belgium consulate the visa should arrive at the end of January. The time is drawing near, and we are anxious to receive the long awaited visa so we can head out to Brussels and begin our mission work over there.
In the meantime, the Lord has been allowing us several opportunities to get the word out on the great need for missions in Western Europe. We have met with 4 of our 5 sending churches, a women's mission union, and lots of pastors and lay leaders.
We are hoping we are down to the wire, and going to be leaving very soon. Of course, only the Lord knows exactly when that will be, but soon enough we will know too!!! We would love to have your prayers concerning our travel. Firstly, that we would be allowed to sit together, this will help immensely with the little ones. Secondly, that our layovers would be just the right length. Thirdly, that all of our 10-14 bags would be checked (with no issues-weight, clearing customs, size etc...), and our five carry ons, double stroller, and hopefully one car seat (if we can possibly manage it) will all make it safely and quickly to Brussels with us. Fourthly, that our children would do well in all of the stateside travel and on the 9 hour flight over to Belgium.
Personal prayer requests: 1) Josiah and Aubriana have deep love for the Lord, pray that they would not loose that in such a dark place, when they are surrounded by peers with a postmodern (anything goes, complete tolerance, except to Biblical absolutes) mindsets. This is a BIG prayer request for us. I think all of the Christian parents reading this can understand our concern over this. Our children are so precious to us, and we want them to cling to the One that gives life, and not fall for the lies of this world. 2) That we would find a trustworthy nanny/babysitter for Makinna while we are both in French language school. 3) Brian and Heather would ask that the Lord grant them quick language acquisition and easy adaptation in Belgian life and culture. But, that first and foremost, our individual walks with the Lord would be strengthened and nourished daily so that we are able to be prepared for whatever divine appointments the Lord would see fit to give us each day.
