Brian met Heather during training for overseas mission work. Brian was headed to Western Europe, and Heather to New Zealand. Each one had a strong desire to walk with the Lord faithfully. They had individually laid before the Father their lives and said, "Take my life, it's yours, do with me as you will."
God lead Brian to marry Heather the following year, and with this Heather moved from Houston to Denver. That's moving up in LOTS of ways! No offense to all Heather's loved ones in Texas! : )
Brian and Heather began as full time missionaries in Denver, and moved into part time missions/ministry as the Lord began blessing them with children 3 years into their marriage.
The Lord seemed to be rekindling their desire to see the nations to come to Christ, seven years later. At first, they thought perhaps, this would look like a 2 week mission trip, but with a new baby less than a 8 months old, even that small of a commitment wouldn't be possible.
After much prayer, and more confirmations of the Lord leading Brian back into full time ministry, they sat down with the head over short term missions with the International Mission Board (IMB). He also felt this was possibly a calling of the Lord to work in the vast church planting outreach throughout the world.
At this point, the hours, weeks, and months of paperwork began - over a half-year later, Brian and Heather were accepted to be missionaries with the IMB. A couple months later, off they went. Selling just about everything they owned, in a few huge garage sales. They went to Field Preparation training in Richmond, VA.
What a blessing that was, besides being feed with the Word each day, mom, dad, and the children were blessed with training at their levels on the religions of the world, the relaties of life overseas, new foods, new people and much more.
Now it's April 2008 already, and the Zees are in Brussels getting settled, and seeking His leading each day through His Word and prayer. Who might they meet, where can they go to seek the lost? Here that isn't difficult. Lostness is everywhere. Less than 1% of the 10 million people in Belgium know Christ.
That sums it up, we are followers of Jesus, seeking interaction with the lost in Belgium.
Enjoy our blog.
Sometimes it's silly, sometimes it's mostly for the grandmas, but in these pages you'll find stories to hopefully inspire you to cry out to the Lord to change your heart, and follow wherever He leads.
