Beautiful Reflections
There's nothing like time in God's Word, prayer and time with the saints to renew your love and joy in the Father. Our training time in Germany provided just that for us. We returned home on a spiritual high. We ask you to continue to pray for us as we seek to live our lives to the Glory of God and to see His name be Glorified among the people of Brussels, Belgium, and that we will not fall prey to any lies of the evil one that would seek to rob our joy and contentment in who the Lord made us to be.
We left last week for a 3 day trip to Ireland and Scotland. We found unbelieveable airfare prices and great deals on lodging, as well. With our vacation days expiring at the end of this month and the birth of a baby on the horizon, there was no time like the present to leave the country. We flew into Dublin, spent a bulk of the first day there. We saw Trinity College and shopped on Graffton street (yes, mom, we bought t-shirts for the kiddos!). We managed to listen to an Irish quartet playing on the street and they were fantastic! The harmony was terrific!
Then it was back in the airplane for a quick puddle jump to Edinburgh, Scotland. We took a double decker bus to our hotel and went out that night for a quick shopping trip. There was a WALMART near our hotel. Amazingly, we didn't find much we needed or wanted. I guess this is part of accepting your new culture and adapting. We have learned to live with what we can find in Belgium with a few exceptions like peanut butter- a major necessity in our home! :0).
The following day we slept in, ate a free breakfast and headed to the Edinburgh Castle, that was originally built in the 11th century. Aubriana's favorite part was when we saw the Crown jewels of Scotland (which are more valuable than the crown jewels of England!). Josiah loved all the life-like scenes of battles. Makinna was hungry and cold, and not really thrilled with the whole thing too much!
We walked the royal mile, saw some gorgeous churches, and went to John Knox's House/Museum before heading to the airport for a return to Dublin. In Dublin, we rented a car, headed North to Newry, then West to Galway. Stayed the night in a great hotel. We headed to the coast and followed a whindy road and saw a gorgeous coastline and beautiful Ireland countryside. Then we arrived at the Cliffs of Moher. Some would say this is the most beautiful part of Ireland. We certainly thought it was breathtaking. We ate fresh cod and chips, and headed back to Dublin for our last night, and out the following morning on an 8AM flight to Belgium. Ok so it wasn't a vacation of much relaxation, but it was wonderful to see another part of Western Europe. We loved the accents of the people we were blessed to meet along the way and beauty we found on our travels. We serve a God of enormous creativity! Hope you enjoy a few of the pictures from our travels!

Wow. I hit your blog at just the right time!
What a blessing the vacation trip must have been. I've been in tears just reading of your great excursion.
May you continue to receive and pass out the blessings of our Father.
When is the "blessed event" due?
In His love,
Paul

You guys are such an encouragement to Cindy and I. From your updates to the pictures you post, you always bring a smile to our faces. I love the title of your post...it says it all! And your kids are definitely "beautiful reflections" of their parents, as we are (and continue to strive to be in the power of the Spirit) "beautiful reflections" of our heavenly Father.
Thanks for the encouragement. We love you guys!
