Last Saturday, we were blessed to have new neighbors move in below us. We'd been praying for them for awhile, and it was nice to meet them. We live in a very small apartment building with only 4 apartments, and row houses all around us. Who becomes your neighbor can be an exciting opportunity for ministry. We have three new college girls (close to Heather's age) move in below us. The kids had a great time at the market buying flowers for them, we ended up deciding on yellow daisies. The ladies only speak French, which is terrific; we were praying for French neighbors. Brian got to meet one of the girl's father and brother, he is hoping to see more of them. The brother has a young family, which could be tremendous if the Lord will's it.
Praise - Brian's French is coming along. Just this past week, we were having some work done on the outside of our apartment, and Brian met one of the men, and was speaking with him each day as they saw each other. Pray for continued growth in French in his ability to understand and speak the language.
Fun Praise- Josiah has mastered the art of tying shoes!! It wasn't necessary, yet, b/c only his cleats have ties. But we knew it was time he learned. Now he's a tying machine!
Heather had another rendezvous with a friend over ice cream on a nice day last week. It was a great time to hang out with her, get to know her further and practice French. Prayer for "Patty," and her family to come to Christ.
There is also another person God has been laying on both Brian and Heather's heart. She is a very talkative and open mommy "Andrea" from the kid's school. We both feel she is open to the things of God, and Heather has had some telling conversations with her. It sounds like she thinks she is a "Christian," but when pressed she thinks all Belgians are Christians too. Pray that she would stay open when the true gospel is presented further, and that the Lord would bring her into new life in Him and take the blindness from her eyes and her husband, "Mark" as well.
Prayer requests-
#1 - All of us have a yucky cold right now! Not FUN, but could be a lot worse! Aubriana and mommy have had this the longest, and daddy is just starting to get it. It's not fun, and we've gone through our share of kleenex!
#2 - The weather is getting colder, and the folks tend to get a little colder too. People are far less talkative, when it's gray, windy and cold outside. Pray that the relationships we have already built will be able to flourish over cups of hot chocolate, tea and coffee, and that the Lord will find ways to provide us with new relationships that can thrive in the winter months.
