Was a BIG success! We met at a neighborhood swimming pool that has a little kiddie pool and one big slide- "Two bah donn" (Heather's phonics for the French pronounciation of slide). New word we picked up today, among others!
Heather had a relaxing time hanging out in the kiddie pool with the mama and all the kids. Then we, of course, took our turns going down the big slide. It was lots of fun. As the mom was heading out, she asked if we wanted to do this again next Friday, so awesome! Another answer to prayer! Keep that meeting in mind for your prayers for our family.
Well, tomorrow (which is just two hours away) will mark one month from our departure from Denver! It's hard to believe that can be possible, the time has flown by. We have been very busy getting settled here in Bruxelles. We do miss our family, but the Lord has been very gracious in this reguard. We now have high speed internet, and a home phone with long distance calls to the country of our choice (can you say, "The United States"). Our children are young enough that they aren't down or upset missing their friends. They are just excited to be here where the weather is so different, they can eat lots of Frites (French fries), and Belgian waffles. Each day at school they gain a little bit more understanding of the French language. It'll take time, and patience.
Funny story. Swimming is a required class for Josiah and Aubriana (super cool), and the parents are allowed to watch. Of course, we were there with all the other young doting parents. That is how we met our playdate mom. Anyway, a half hour after the class started one of the children's teachers began saying something to the children. They all began getting out, except our children who were playing, splashing, giggling, and walking in the other direction. It cracked us up, to see our little disobedient ones, who had no clue that they were being naughty! Finally Josiah turned around, and realized we gotta go!! Oops! I guess we need to work on understanding the French words "It's time to go!"
With that it's time for me to go! It's getting late in ... Belgium (not too far from Denmark)! See ya later. Thanks for the prayers. We can feel them and see the results, which is super exciting! We'll post more pictures soon.
