...Friday our family went in search of a pack in play (aka. Play Pen), but to no avail. We did manage to purchase a used little stroller. We could only bring one stroller from the states, so we brought the beast (which has been wonderful). It has many many miles on it already! We needed a little one for getting on and off public transit during peak times.
Public transit is very up close and personal at those times. Belgians don't understand our need for personal space in these times, so taking a big American double stroller is just not possible. They jump in front of you in line, as you try to board the Tram. These otherwise, reserved orderly people throw all that out and put on an every man for himself mentality. It's intense to say the least. We try to avoid those times if at all possible, but it looks like the children (Aubriana and Josiah) will be attending school about 1.5 miles away. We'll be taking the Tram to get them to and from school, each morning and afternoon. Pray for us to be able to get on and off each day with relative EASE!
The children will be beginning full-immersion French school tomorrow. They are very excited. Josiah and Aubriana will be able to see each other often during the day, which should be very helpful and comforting for both of them. We have met their teachers, and we've seen their classrooms, which are very neat, inviting and large. We are praying for their teachers. J and A can't wait to share Christ with their new friends. Their teachers do not speak much English, but the Maternelle has a teacher that is almost fluent in English, and she is a wonderful laison for us. We'll keep you posted as the children come home with stories of their first few days of school. Thank you for praying for them.
We do not, yet know how Makinna will be cared for while we are in language school. Please pray that the Lord will provide a perfect fit for her. Thankfully she will only need to be cared for 3-5 hours a day.
